Hugh Chinnick - Director
Originating from UK, Hugh began his career in 1974 as Deputy Chief Electrician at the Arts
Theatre Cambridge. This was followed by eleven seasons with Glyndebourne Festival
Opera, interspersed with productions for English Music Theatre, English National Opera
(North), West End productions, trade shows and television productions. In 1987 he joined
the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he was Head of Theatre Lighting until
1999. Hugh is a member of the Association of Lighting Designers, External Advisors
Committee for the Academy's School of Theatre & Entertainment Arts, Technical Advisor
to the Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technicians and Scenographers, and continues
part-time teaching for the School, Hong Kong City University and Queensland University
of Technology's Master of Lighting programme, together with private teaching for small
groups and organisations in his fully equipped Studio.
Virginia Kam - Co-Director
Virginia is a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Lighting. She has worked as a Technical Coordinator and
Production Manager for the Hong Kong International Arts Festival, and Technical Manager
for numerous local productions, and her extensive knowledge of and involvement in the
Hong Kong theatre industry is an invaluable asset to the company. Virginia is Treasurer
for the Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technicians and Scenographers and Vice-Chairman
of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Alumni Association.
Fauzan Fadil – Sales & Operations Director (Singapore)
Fauzan originally joined Pacific Lighting in 2011 and was instrumental in establishing the
reputation and reliability of the company in Singapore and the surrounding region. At the
beginning of 2016 he furthered his career by joining Martin Professional (now Martin by
Harmon), followed by Rosco as Regional Sales Manager (Asia Pacific) in mid-2017. With his
much-welcomed return to Pacific Lighting in October 2020 he brings a wealth of business
knowledge and experience from his extensive exposure to the markets in Singapore and the
South East Asia region, not least in the architectural and broadcast sectors.
Mike Wood - Technology Consultant
Like Hugh, Mike also started his career at the Arts and ADC Theatres in Cambridge in the
mid 1970's, and has been actively involved in the entertainment technology industry ever
since. He has held senior positions at BBC Television, DeSisti and Coemar UK, JEM
Theatrical, and High End Systems where he was CTO for ten years. Currently Mike provides
independent consulting to a number of companies in the industry on technology
implementation, strategy, and R&D. Mike is a published author with regular columns in
PLASA Protocol, Lighting and Sound International, and Lighting and Sound America
magazines. He has been the Chairman of both PLASA and ESTA trade associations in the
UK and the USA and currently co-chairs the PLASA ANSI accredited technical standards
committee for entertainment technology.
